Visit J\u00e6gersborg Deer Park and Enclosure<\/h2>\n

J\u00e6gersborg Deer Park and Enclosure is known for its many old oak trees, its large population of deer and, not least, the beautiful royal hunting lodge, Eremitageslottet, which dominates the landscape.<\/h5>\n

J\u00e6gersborg Deer Park and Enclosure is a public forest with unrestricted access for all. It is one of Denmark\u2019s most visited forests, and offers a wide range of sights as well as a wealth of natural and cultural experiences.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Information centres:<\/strong><\/h6>\n

In the park, there are 7 information centres (see where on the map). Here, you can find maps, texts and leaflets, which will guide you through the World Heritage area.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Arriving by car:<\/strong><\/h6>\n

There are numerous parking spaces close to J\u00e6gersborg Deer Park and Enclosure (see where on the map).<\/p>\n

To the north of Klampenborg Station in the south eastern area, by Bakken and the King\u2019s Gate, by Fortunen in the south west, close to Hjortek\u00e6r to the west of the Deer Park, at Skodsborg Station in the north and by the Springforbi gate to the east.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Arriving by train:<\/strong><\/h6>\n

Take the S-train or commuter train (called \u00d8resundstoget) to Klampenborg Station or the commuter train to Skodsborg Station. Plan your journey here<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Eremitageslottet<\/strong><\/h6>\n

The splendid Eremitageslot, a royal hunting lodge built in the 18th century, is part of the World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n

Eremitageslottet is not open to the public every day, but there are opportunities to take a guided tour on specific dates during the summer.<\/p>\n

Cycling<\/h6>\n

Cycling is permitted on all paths and forest roads, but not on the forest floor or down slopes, on stone walls or on burial mounds.<\/p>\n

It is possible to rent bikes at Cafeparforce<\/u><\/a> at Klampenborg Station. In the cafe it is also possible to grab a bite to eat, to stay or to-go.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Horseback riding:<\/strong><\/h6>\n

A permit is required for horseback riding in J\u00e6gersborg Deer Park and Enclosure. Permits can be purchased on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis on the Danish Nature Agency website <\/a>(in Danish).<\/p>\n

Riding is permitted in many areas, but there are some restrictions during the summer on account of of the deer.<\/p>\n

Horses and ponies can be rented in several places including Fortunen\u2019s Pony Centre<\/a> (website in Danish)\u00a0and Krathusgaard<\/a> (website in English).[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Accommodation<\/strong><\/h6>\n

There are primitive shelters and camping is permitted in some specific areas of J\u00e6gersborg Enclosure and the Deer Park. You can see where at www.udinaturen.dk.<\/p>\n

There is also a wealth of options for accommodation in the vicinity of J\u00e6gersborg Deer Park and Enclosure \u2013 regardless of whether you prefer camping or a luxury hotel.<\/p>\n
